Campaign Verify Tokens
A campaign verify token is a type of security measure that is used to verify the authenticity of a political campaign or candidate. It is a unique code or token that is issued by an independent third party - Campaign Verify - to a campaign or candidate, and it serves as a way to confirm that the campaign or candidate is legitimate and authorized to use certain resources.
From the Campaign Verify website: “Campaign Verify is a non-partisan, nonprofit service for U.S. political campaigns, parties, and PACs to verify their identity.”
There are a number of different ways that a campaign verify token can be used, but for the sake of Text Anything, it is used to relate the text messages you send to carriers as proof of your identity and active registration with Campaign Verify.
One of the key benefits of using a campaign verify token is that it helps ensure delivery of your campaign related text messages as the carriers will see your active token and not filter out your messages. Overall, a campaign verify token is a useful security measure that helps to protect campaigns and candidates from fraud and unauthorized activity by verifying the authenticity of their identity and authorization to use certain resources.
The risk of sending political messages without a Campaign Verify token is that your messages will be blocked by carriers (often without your knowledge) and your brand and text phone numbers may be blacklisted by carriers.
There are a number of organizations that offer campaign verify token services, and the specific requirements and processes for obtaining a token may vary depending on the provider, but at this time Text Anything only supports tokens from Campaign Verify.
